About 8 kms. south of Nasik, is a group of 24 Hinayana Buddhist Caves dating from around the 1st century BC to the 2nd AD. The most important in this group are number 18 and 20. Except caves no. 18, the rest of the caves are Viharas or Monasteries. This group caves is one of the most important and intriguing in western India.

   
Chambhar Lena

Chambhar Lena -

One of the sacred places for Jain Religion is Teerthraj Gajpantha, it is located towards the north of Nashik at Mhasrul, 16 Kms from Nashik Road Railway station and 8 Kms from Nashik City. Also known, as Chambar Caves, it is an eleventh century Jain (Gajapathi) monument. It is situated on the top of a small hill and its stairs which leads to the temple are built in black stone. This temple is 100 years old and houses a statue of Mahaveer Bhagwan, which is 25 inches tall.

   
Someshwar

Someshwar -

On your way to Gangapur dam, you will witness the beautiful nature spot the bank of River Godavari called "Someshwar" fascinates tourists. The main temple is of Lord Shiva along with other temples of Lord Hanuman, Lord Ram, Sita and Laxmana and Vishnu-Laxmi temple. Every Monday in Sharavana and on Mahashivaratri day, a fair is held here. Due to the scenic beauty and pleasant climate it has become favorite location for filmshooting. The place has become a picnic spot for the localities as well as for the tourists as they can take pleasure boating here. Near to Someshwar there is beautiful waterfall of about 9-10 meter called Dudhsagar.

Dadasaheb Phalke Memorial

Dadasaheb Phalke Memorial -

t is located at the footsteps of the Pandavlena hillock. It has been established in memory of Late Shri Dadasaheb Phalke - the pioneer of the Indian Film industry who was from Nashik District. The memorial covers 30 acre of area and has three archaeological exhibition halls, a small auditorium for screening movies, restaurants and guesthouses.

It also has musical fountain, which attracts tourists in hordes. An additional attraction of this memorial is the waterpark, which can leave the visitors mesmerised with its beauty.

Temple Hill

Devlali Camp -

It is the most attractive and salubrious spot near Nashik City is situated in the magnanimous laps of the Sahyadri Ranges. Nestled by the Mother Nature herself Devlali was the obvious and first choice of the Britons, when it comes to developing has been known for number of sanatoriums built by the wealthier people. Devlali is a favourable retreat for many urbanites during summer, though nature here is mesmerising in all the seasons.
